Wielding a mysterious yet mighty baseball bat, the Trailblazer (Physical) doesn’t seem as imposing as many other characters in Honkai: Star Rail.
But, their kit says otherwise, implying a more vicious playing style relevant to the Path of Destruction. Encouraging a more aggressive approach, the Physical Trailblazer benefits from vastly different builds compared to their more conservative Fire counterparts.

Trailblazer (Physical) Best Build
In Honkai: Star Rail, the Trailblazer (Physical) is more akin to a warrior or fighter from other RPG games. Their abilities center around dealing both single-target and Area-of-Effect (AoE) damages, with a specialty in capitalizing on enemies suffering from Weakness Breaks.
With that in mind, this is the best build that we recommend for your Caelus/ Stelle in-game:
Character | Best Cavern Relics Set | Best Planar Ornaments Set | Best Light Cone |
Trailblazer (Physical) | (4-piece) Champion of Streetwise Boxing | Fleet of the Ageless | On the Fall of an Aeon |
These sets combine to empower the Trailblazer’s Attack as much as possible, leading to even more damage-per-second (DPS) output for each offensive ability.
With his Traces and Eidolons unlocked, the Trailblazer becomes bulkier and heals themselves too, making them even more enticing to play with.

Trailblazer (Physical) Alternate Light Cones
On the Fall of an Aeon is largely the go-to Light Cone for the Physical Trailblazer, but depending on certain builds, you can also get the most value from alternatives as well, such as:
Light Cone | Effect(s) |
Something Irreplaceable | Attack increases by 24% – 40% Upon defeating an enemy or being hit, heals HP by 8% – 12% of Attack, besides increasing outgoing damage by 24% – 40% for 1 turn (only triggers once per turn, doesn’t stack) |
indelible Promise | Break Effect increases by 28% – 56% After using Ultimate, Critical Rate is increased by 15% – 30% (2 turns) |
A Secret Vow | Increases damage dealt to enemies by 20% – 40% Damage increases by another 20% – 40% to enemies with HP equal to or higher than the Traiblazer’s current HP percentage |
All of these share the same idea albeit with slightly different mechanics; they all boost the Trailblazer’s damage ceiling in combat, either via increases to Attack, Critical Rate, Break Effect, etc.
Still, both types of Trailblazers (Physical, Fire) are very versatile in-game, meaning many Light Cones can be fitted to their design, including 3-star ones like Collapsing Sky!
Trailblazer (Physical) Alternate Relics
Jumping to Relics, the Champion of Streetwise Boxing set is almost non-negotiable. Almost!
The Trailblazer (Physical) can also be built in various ways, all of them focusing on improving their overall threat to foes depending on the gear stats you have on them.
Here are some examples:
Balanced Damage Build
Cavern Relics Set | Effect(s) |
(2-piece) Champion of Streetwise Boxing | (2-piece) Increases Physical Damage by 10% |
(2-piece) Thief of Shooting Meteor | (2-piece) Increases Break Effect by 16% |
By pairing these two sets, your Trailblazer becomes even more effective against enemies weak to Physical damage, especially Bosses.
Planar Ornaments Set | Effect(s) |
Space Sealing Station | Attack increased by 12% If Speed is at or higher than 120, Attack is increased by another 12% (total of 24%) |
Noting the improvements to Physical Damage and Break Effect from the 2-piece sets, getting the Attack increase from Space Sealing Station generally empowers all your abilities, besides cycling through the turn order faster by getting Speed stats into gear.
All Honkai: Star Rail Relics and Planar Ornaments
Weakness Break Build
Relic Set | Effect(s) |
(4-piece) Thief of Shooting Meteor | (2-piece) Increases Break Effect by 16% (4-piece) Increases Break Effect by another 16% (total of 32%) (4-piece) Upon Weakness Breaking an enemy, regenerates 3 Energy |
If you’re interested in destroying foes’ Toughness meter instead, equipping the 4-piece Thief set is ideal. You’ll be shredding through Elites’ and Bosses’ bars in just a few turns!
Planar Ornaments Set | Effect(s) |
Talia: Kingdom of Banditry | Increases Break Effect by 16% If Speed is at or higher than 145, Break Effect increases by an additional 20% (total of 36%) |
Give the Talia set a chance, and you’ll feel like you’re cheesing through the game’s early-to-mid-game content. Toughness meters are no longer a hassle, but you might need to min-max your Trailblazer’s Speed stat to achieve the final 20% Break Effect increase.

Speedy Attacker Build
Relic Set | Effect(s) |
(4-piece) Musketeer of Wild Wheat | (2-piece) Increases Attack by 12% (4-piece) Speed increased by 6% and Basic Attack damage improves by 10% |
Experimental builds can also be the most fun, though they don’t always guarantee the best results. Still, if you want a speedier DPS Trailblazer on the field, equipping a complete Musketeer set should give you everything you need.
Planar Ornaments Set | Effect(s) |
Space Sealing Station | Attack increased by 12% If Speed is at or higher than 120, Attack is increased by another 12% (total of 24%) |
Since you’re already putting stats into Speed, give the Space Sealing Station a go to get even juicier Attack improvements!
Trailblazer (Physical) Best Team
As the main character (MC), the Trailblazer synergizes perfectly with almost every character. That being said, certain team compositions benefit from his presence more than others.
Let’s check out a few that do:
Weakness-AoE Team
Himeko | Xueyi | Bailu |
With the Trailblazer (Physical), Himeko, and Xueyi on the same team, you’ll unleash multiple forms of attacks on enemies, including Himeko’s and Xueyi’s follow-ups.
Plus, they thrive on Weakness Breaks, complimenting the Trailblazer’s own kit. Seeing the lack of a tank, Bailu’s there to heal everyone constantly.
Pure/ Mono Physical Team
Clara | Sushang | Natasha |
Getting this complete Physical team is a lot easier, and Clara attracts the enemies’ aggro while you continue to devastate them unhindered.
Sushang exploits the Trailblazer’s Weakness Break efficiency, all while Natasha focuses her heals on anyone who needs it, which is usually Clara or you.
Honkai Star Rail Character Tier List
Sustain-DPS Team
Fu Xuan | Ruan Mei | Lynx |
Having Fu Xuan and Lynx strengthens the whole party’s survivability, while Ruan Mei’s crucial support of Speed, Resistance Penetration, and more pushes the Trailblazer’s offensive capabilities further.
Overview
Summarily, the Physical Trailblazer is an enjoyable pick for those who savor pummelling foes indiscriminately.
However, while their DPS potential is impressive, they lack defensive and debilitating effects to either toughen themselves or weaken enemies. This is evident as showcased here:
Skills
Skill | Effect(s) |
Basic Attack Farewell Hit | Deals 50% – 110% Attack as Physical Damage Toughness Damage: 30 |
Skill RIP Home Run | Deal 62.5% – 137.5% Attack as Physical Damage to a single target and enemies adjacent to it Toughness Damage: 60 (target), 30 (adjacent) |
Talent Perfect Pickoff | After Weakness Breaking an enemy, Attack increases by 10% – 22% (stacks up to 2 times) |
Ultimate Stardust Ace | Choose between two different powered-up attacks [Single] Blowout: Farewell Hit: – Deals 300% – 480% Attack as Physical Damage to a single target Toughness Damage: 90 [Blast] Blowout: RIP Home Run: – Deals 180% 288% Attack as Physical Damage to the primary target, and 108% – 172.8% Attack as Physical Damage to adjacent foes Toughness Damage: 60 |
The Trailblazer’s Physical (Devastation) kit is all about raw damage and AoE pain. With the right gear planning and item sets, it becomes even scarier.
Still, there are no defensive effects thrown in, and that’s where the Traces come in:
Dreamjolt TV Event Guide – Honkai: Star Rail
Traces
Trace | Effect(s) |
Ready for Battle | Upon entering battle, immediately generates 15 Energy |
Perseverance | Each Talent stack increases Defense by 10% |
Fighting Will | When using Skill or the Ultimate, [Blast] Blowout: RIP Home Run, the target enemy suffers 25% more damage |
The Trailblazer (Physical)’s Traces supplement their shortfalls by adding stat increases to HP and Defense (apart from Attack too), besides the three main ones listed.
Best Guinaifen Builds, Relics, And Light Cones – Honkai: Star Rail
Eidolons
Eidolon | Effect(s) |
Level 1 A Falling Star | Regenerates 10 Energy for each enemy defeated by the Ultimate (triggers once per turn) |
Level 2 An Unwilling Host | Heals HP by 5% Attack when attacking enemies weak to Physical |
Level 3 A Leading Whisper | +2 Skill Levels (maximum +15 Skill) +2 Talent Levels (maximum +15 Talent) |
Level 4 A Destructing Glance | Critical Rate increased by 25% when attacking an enemy suffering from Weakness Break |
Level 5 A Surviving Hope | +2 Ultimate Levels (maximum +15 Ultimate) +1 Basic Attack Level (maximum +10 Basic Attack) |
Level 6 A Trailblazing Will | The Talent’s effects also trigger after defeating an enemy |
Thankfully, getting their Eidolons is much more straightforward than unlocking other 5-star characters’, removing the need to spend Stellar Jades.
Overall, the Trailblazer (Physical) is a good character to build, but planning for a specific role to slot him into a preferred end-game party is still recommended.
