Honkai: Star Rail Seele Build Guide (2024)

Honkai: Star Rail Seele Build Guide – In this Honkai: Star Rail Seele Build Guide, I’m going to share my Seele Build, one who is an excellent Quantum damage dealer. In fact, she’s pretty OP even at lower levels because her kit allows her to deal loads of damage quickly. I’ll be discussing the Stats and Skills you should pay attention to, the Light Cones and Relics to strive for, and the Companions to pick in order to make Seele shine in combat. If you’re looking for an early game Level 40 Seele Build, then this Guide is for you!

Seele is a 5-star character, whom you can obtain from the Butterfly on Swordtip Character Event Warp. She specializes in dealing Quantum Damage against single targets and inflicting Entanglement to delay their actions in combat. On top of this, slaying them results in gaining extra turns, which allows Seele to efficiently destroy one foe to the next.

However, her HP and Effect Resistance aren’t as high, and nor does she get stat boosts for them with her Traces. This makes it essential to have Natasha or March 7th in the party to make sure that she survives. Additionally, Seele will need Welt who will serve as a secondary damage dealer as well as Asta to buff everyone’s Speed effectively.

Honkai: Star Rail Seele Build Guide – Stats And Eidolons

Seele follows the Hunt Path, which means that she’s incredibly adept at dealing massive damage against single targets, particularly strong enemies such as bosses and elites. But what makes her such a sought-after character is her ability to obliterate one target after the next in quick succession. To achieve this level of expertise, you’ll want to mainly focus on boosting her Crit Rate, Crit Damage, Speed, and then Attack.

Honkai: Star Rail Seele Build Guide (2)

Crits are self-explanatory whereas Speed determines how soon and how often Seele can attack. When this is raised, she’ll keep destroying multiple enemies, often taking the main stage and dominating the battlefield. What’s more, is that this stat helps charge her Ultimate Ability a bit more efficiently because similar to Sampo, her Max Energy is equally larger at 120. And finally, there’s Quantum Damage, which scales with her Attack % so the higher her Attack is, the greater the burst damage will be.

For substats, you should continue focusing on raising Crit, Speed, Attack, and Break Effect. When the target’s Toughness is reduced to 0, Seele’s Break Effect determines how much Quantum Damage will be dealt afterward. Additionally, they also receive the Entanglement effect, which increases Action Value, thereby reducing their turns in combat. This even increases the amount of Quantum Damage they take because of their weakened state. The Quantum Element alone just keeps making Seele’s build all the more powerful.

Even without Seele’s Eidolons, she’s already a monster of a character to begin with. However, if you become super lucky enough at endgame to get duplicates of this character, you’ll want to go for Extirpating Slash at Level 1 and Flitting Phantasm at Level 4.

Honkai: Star Rail Seele Build Guide (3)

Extirpating Slash is a great way to finish bosses by first reducing their HP to less than or equal to 80%. Afterward, Seele’s Crit Rate will go up by as much as 15% to raise the chances of slaying the target with her Skill, and as a result, gain an extra action. Meanwhile, Flitting Phantasm rewards killing a foe even more by granting her +15 Energy.

Honkai: Star Rail Seele Build Guide – Skills And Traces

In this section, we’ll talk about Seele’s Skills and Traces together with what you should prioritize in combat.

  • Resurgence (Talent) – This passive is an extremely powerful ability because it grants Seele an extra turn when she defeats an enemy regardless of the type of attack she uses. It should be noted that upon slaying another target during that turn, she won’t be able to trigger Resurgence again. This talent encourages her to handle crowds and enemies whose HPs are already low. What’s more, is that Seele gets to enter the “Buffed State” where her Quantum Damage increases significantly during the extra turn. As such, Resurgence synergizes well with the Lacerate Ability, which protects her against Quantum elemental enemies when she’s in the Buffed State. Be sure to also get Nightshade to lessen the chances of getting attacked when her HP is less than or equal to 50% together with DEF Boost.

  • Phantom Illusion (Technique) – This is a technique that allows Seele to become momentarily stealthy. As such, she can ignore enemies while exploring but she can also choose to sneak up on them. Once combat is initiated, Seele automatically enters the Buffed State.
  • Thwack (Basic ATK) – This is a rather straightforward attack in which Seele deals Quantum Damage against a single target to generate a skill point. Thwack works hand-in-hand with the Rippling Waves Ability at Character Ascension 6 so much so that her succeeding action after initiating this Basic Attack will be “Advanced Forward by 20%”. This means that Seele’s next turn will be 20% faster every time she uses Thwack, allowing her to attack more often.
  • Sheathed Blade (Skill) – This is an incredible skill to have because it more than doubles the Quantum Damage she deals against a single enemy as compared to Thwack. Additionally, her Speed increases for 2 turns. Sheathed Blade becomes even stronger once you unlock the CRIT DMG and ATK Boost Abilities.

  • Butterfly Flurry (Ultimate) – Even though this costs 120 Max Energy, it’s the best way to obliterate a single target. The Quantum Damage Seele deals is more than 2x that of Sheathed Blade since she instantly enters the Buffed State when Butterfly Flurry is activated.

Honkai: Star Rail Seele Build Guide – Light Cones

When it comes to Light Cones, the ones you’ll want to chase after for Seele’s kit are Arrows, Cruising in the Stellar Sea, and In the Night. Arrows is a 3-star Light Cone, which boosts Seele’s Crit Rate at the beginning of an encounter. It lasts for 3 turns, thereby increasing the chances of dealing massive Crit Damage. You can ascend this Light Cone by up to Level 35 or 40 max, depending on how soon you get Cruising in the Stellar Sea.

Cruising in the Stellar Sea is a 5-star Light Cone that can be obtained for free by spending 8 Herta Bond in Herta’s Store. Herta Bonds are earned as Point Rewards, and upon clearing a Simulated Universe World for the very first time. This Light Cone is an upgrade of Arrows such that your Crit Rate is increased by default, not just at the start of combat. Furthermore, the same stat is doubled when attacking targets whose HPs are less than or equal to 50%. But the bonuses of Cruising in the Stellar Sea don’t end there. The moment Seele slays a target, her Attack, and consequently Quantum Damage, are amplified for 2 turns. So her overall damage output becomes more lethal when combined with Resurgence and any of her skills.

Last but not least is In the Night, which is the best 5-star Light Cone for Seele. Aside from the extra Crit Rate she gains, she’s rewarded for having a higher Speed Stat. Here, the Quantum Damage she deals using Thwack and Sheathed Blade increases. When triggering the Butterfly Flurry Ultimate, its corresponding Crit Damage becomes considerably huge. This is also one of the reasons why you’d want to prioritize Speed over Attack in order to trigger these damage boosts to push Seele’s potential to the limit.

Honkai: Star Rail Seele Build Guide – Relics

In terms of Relics, it’s important to remember that for the Head and Hands, your character gets a flat HP and Attack bonus, respectively. This isn’t the case for the Body and Feet, which are comprised of random stats such as Crit Rate and Speed. Ideally, you’d want to equip 4-star Relics since they provide 2-3 substats in addition to their main stat. But remember that regardless of the rating, enhancing them for every 3 levels will yield a random substat. For a Level 40 Seele, it’s enough to level up her Relics to a maximum of +6 for 4-star gear until you get their 5-star versions to reserve enough resources by then.

For Seele’s Relics, you’ll only be choosing two sets, namely the Muskeeter of Wild Wheat and Genius of Brilliant Stars. Musketeer of Wild Wheat is a set you’ll be familiar with during the first few hours of the game but it doesn’t mean that it’s ineffective. On the contrary, wearing all 4 pieces not only increases Seele’s Attack and Thwack’s Quantum Damage but also her Speed, which works exceptionally well with the In the Night Light Cone.

When you progress deeper into the story, you’ll eventually unlock the Cavern of Corrosion: Path of Providence. Here, you can farm for the Genius of Brilliant Stars until you get Genius’s Metafield Suit (Body) whose main and substats should either be Crit Rate or Crit Damage. You’ll then pair this with Genius’s Gravity Walker (Feet) where the priority stats need to be Speed or Attack. The Genius of Brilliant Stars 4-piece set not only increases Seele’s Quantum Damage but also reduces the target’s Defense %, making her Quantum penetration higher.

Team Composition

In Honkai: Star Rail, you’ll have all four characters available while combat is ongoing so you won’t be swapping from one to the next. There also won’t be elemental pools left behind. Instead, you’ll focus on the enemy’s weaknesses to deplete their Toughness and HP accordingly. For this Seele Guide, I’ll be sharing the best characters to go with her and how effective their skills are for this build.

Honkai: Star Rail Seele Build Guide (10)

Welt of the Nihility Path is an excellent first character to go with Seele because of his Imaginary element specialization. When he breaks the enemy using the Synthetic Black Hole Ultimate, they become Imprisoned, which reduces their Speed, resulting in skipping turns in combat. Welt is a reliable sub DPS because he’s more than capable of incapacitating enemies while dealing massive damage.

Natasha who follows the Abundant Path should be your second character. She’s an excellent healer who also deals Physical Damage with her Basic Attack from time to time. But if you need someone who is more equipped in crowd control, then you’re better off choosing March 7th since she can freeze enemies to reduce the number of actions they perform in combat. Plus, she’s able to conjure one Shield after the next for allies using the Glacial Cascade Ultimate.

Honkai: Star Rail Seele Build Guide (12)

Last but not least is Asta who follows the Harmony Path. She’ll primarily buff everyone’s Speed thanks to her Astral Blessing Ultimate. This becomes much more powerful when Seele has the In the Night Light Cone equipped, making her overall damage extremely potent and deadly. Asta’s Basic Attack is also decent as it allows her to deal Fire Damage, which can potentially inflict the Burn effect to deal DoT.

Final Tips

Seele is a tremendous 5-star character and is currently the best main damage dealer out there due to her crits and extra turns in combat. The idea with her team is to deplete the target’s HP to a point where she can defeat them to gain a free action. So for skill rotation, you’ll want to start with Sheathed Blade to go in for the kill followed by Resurgence for the extra turn. Next, you’ll activate Seele’s Butterfly Flurry Ultimate to once again refresh Resurgence for another turn. In 4 attacks in a row, she’ll be able to wipe out most enemy teams.

If you don’t have Welt in the party, you can opt to take Serval instead. Serval follows the Erudition Path and deals huge Lightning Damage. This means that she can whittle down the HPs of mobs and bosses effectively so that Seele can perform her attacks to gain extra turns. She’s also a free-to-play character so she can stand in for Welt until you manage to pull him.

When you unlock Planetary Ornaments, you should initially go for the 2-piece set called Space Sealing Station during the early game. Doing so increases Seele’s Attack, which doubles when her Speed hits 120. This will always be the case when you have In the Night plus Asta on the team. You can then farm for the Inert Salsotto later on to boost her Crit Rate further. When this stat hits +50%, Seele’s damage from her Ultimate is amplified as well.
