FacialsDIY Homemade Spa Party Recipes for Kids - Kids Play and Create (4)

Facials are so much fun for little girls. The recipes below are made with natural ingredients that shouldn’t irritate the skin. If you are going to facials as a group activity, it’s important to speak to the parents to ensure the children do not have issues with the skin such as eczema or allergies.

How to use facials: Spread mixtures on the face avoiding the eye area. Let sit for approximately 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry with a towel. Facials help soften the skin and bring out our skin’s natural glow.

The Fruity Facial

makes enough for three girls

Ingredients

  • 1/2 papaya (peeled, sliced, no seeds, chilled)
  • 1/2 cups diced pineapple(chilled)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup green tea (cooled)

Step 1:Puree papaya and pineapple in a blender

Step 2:Pour papaya and pineapple puree into a bowl

Step 3:Add honey and green tea to the bowl and mix well.

Step 4:Apply to face; leave on for 10 minutes.

Step 5:Rinse face after 10 minutes with warm water, pat dry with a towel.

Store leftovers in a jar or plastic container. The mixture will last up to 3 days.

Banana Bread Facial

It makes enough for 2-3 facials

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 tablespoon oats
  • 1/2 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon almond milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons whole wheat flour

Step 1: Grind oats in a blender until they turn into powder. You can skip this step; it would be a little clumpy on the skin.

Step 2:Mash bananas in a mixing bowl.

Step 3:Add oat powder, orange juice, almond milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and flour to the mixing bowl with the banana.

Step 4:Mix together until it is a paste-like consistency. If too liquidy, add more flour, if too thick, add more almond milk.

Step 5:Spread the mixture on the face avoiding the eye area. Let sit on the face for 10 minutes.

Step 6:After 10 minutes, rinse off the face and pat dry. The mixture is only good for the day. Throw away leftovers after use.

Step 2:Add vanilla and almond extracts to the blender and blend again.

Step 3:Spread the mixture on the face avoiding the eye area. Let sit on the face for 10 minutes.

Spa Party Extras

Thinking about having an at-home DIY spa party? Here are some tips for an awesome extra special spa party.

Tip 1: Remember to inform the children’s parents exactly what you plan on doing to avoid any unhappy parents later.

Tip 2: Purchase a robe, slippers, or spa headband for children. You don’t need to go crazy and buy all three; one will be enough. Check local dollar and discount stores, you can find great deals.

Tip 3: Pick three of the recipes above. I have done several spa parties, and in my experience, three of the above recipes are enough to keep the children engaged and still leave time for other activities.

Tip 4: Have other spa-type treatments available such as nail polish or makeup for makeovers

Tip 5: When having an at-home party, I always set up an easy photo backdrop so the kids can take pictures and selfies.
