Ingredients you need for the Garlic Green Beans

1 lb (450g) fresh green beans2tablespoonsunsalted butter(or ghee)1tablespoonolive oil1/2onion,chopped2 garlic cloves, minced2 tablespoon lemon juice1 teaspoon hot sauce, optional2tablespoonslow sodium vegetable stock2tablespoonsfresh parsley,choppedSaltandpepper,to taste1 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes, optional

Directions

1.To make the green beans recipe: Rinse and trim the green beans, then chop in small pieces. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.

2. Blanch the green beans in boiling water for 2-3 minutes. Drain and soak in ice-cold water to stop the cooking, then drain the green beans once more. This step is optional.

3. Heat the butter and oil in a large pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Saute the chopped onion until fragrant and translucent.

4. Add the green beans and garlic and sauté with the onion until crisp-tender – about 3 minutes.

5.Once green beans are crisp-tender, add hot sauce, lemon juice, chopped parsley, red chili pepper flakes, and black pepper. Cook until the mixture becomes golden and slightly caramelized – about 4 minutes.

6.Deglaze the green beans with the vegetable stock and cook for 2 minutes, to reduce the sauce slightly.

7. Season the cooked green beans generously with salt and pepper, to taste, sprinkle with remaining parsley, and serve the sauteedgreen beansimmediately. Enjoy!
